French psychiatrist and psychoanalyst of the Société psychanalytique de Paris, whose work turned on the analytic situation and on how, and how legitimately, analysis brings about its effects. With André Green he wrote L'Enfant de ça (1973), the close study of a single interview in which the two introduced the notion of blank psychosis.
