Dr. Sándor Ferenczi (Zum 50. Geburtstag)
Freud's unsigned tribute, issued in the name of the editors, for Ferenczi's fiftieth birthday. It recounts Ferenczi's early career in Budapest, his first rejection and later embrace of The Interpretation of Dreams, the trip to Clark University in 1909, his proposal of the International Psychoanalytic Association at Nuremberg in 1910 and his presidency from 1918, his founding of the Budapest group in 1913 and his university teaching in 1919, and it surveys his writings from the papers on introjection, hypnosis, the sense of reality and symbolism to the war neuroses and the first steps toward active therapy.
